The volume dedicated to the artist Paul Nagel [born 1925 in Cologne] for his 80th birthday is published for an exhibition in Wesseling from 2nd April to 3rd Mai 2005. Its first part contains a CV, forewords [editor, Meisner], reflections on Nagel‘s œuvre [Wolff], the role of a sculptor in an ecclesiastical environment [Terboven], the iconography of Saint Teresia Benedicta a cruce [Kusenotto], and on a chasuble [Hofmann]. Its second part includes a speech given at an exhibition opening in 1969 [Schlombs] and a newspaper report on it. The third part comprises a register of works 1949-2005 in alphabetical order according to sites in Germany and abroad and a register by categories of works. Amongst them there are e.g. church components [door, roof crown, grille, choir-screen, handrail, balustrade, window, stairs, fountain, floor, baldachin, frieze, foundation-stone], church furniture [pew, seats for priests, choir-stalls, altar, retable, cross, tabernacle, ambo, bell, stoup, organ, lectern, reliquary, pulpit], sculptures, reliefs, pictures, gravestones, items of practical use [candlesticks, coat-stand, sideboard, chasuble, picture frame], and concepts for buildings and rooms.
